At the event, the dear memory of Great Leader Heydar Aliyev and the martyrs who died for the territorial integrity of our Motherland was commemorated with a minute's silence.
Later, vice-rector for educational affairs Ragif Huseynov gave an introductory speech and congratulated the event participants on the occasion of the National Revival Day, talking about the historical day that embodied the will, unity and solidarity of our people on the way to the independence of our country.
At the event, adviser on social issues and public relations Shahmar Hasanov, head of the Department of Social Sciences and Multiculturalism Fuad Yusifov, associate professor of that department Susanbar Mammadova and other speakers said that hundreds of thousands of people who protested against the leaning policy ,gathered on Azadlig Square on November 17, 1988 were against the double standards of the former Soviet Union towards Azerbaijan.
It was noted that Armenia's territorial claim against Azerbaijan, the open separatist movement of Armenians living in Karabakh, and the expulsion of hundreds of thousands of Azerbaijanis living in Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh from these processes laid the foundation of the Meydan movement.
The non-stop mass protest of the people, who took the initiative to prevent these problems that arose as a result of the policies of Moscow and the local authorities at that time, continued for 17 days without interruption.
In the speeches, it was emphasized that this action, which was attended by millions of people, was also the largest protest action in the former USSR and played a role in the process of the collapse of the USSR. It was reported that even though the national rally was destroyed by the Soviet troops on the night of December 4-5, the national revival of the people was recorded in history as an important stage in the restoration of Azerbaijan's independence.
A table tennis competition was held between teachers of higher education and secondary specialized educational institutions in the Ganja City Youth House under the organization of the Ganja-Dashkasan Regional Youth and Sports Department.
The teachers of Azerbaijan Technological University (ATU) won the second place in the competition. The teachers of Ganja State University (GSU) and Azerbaijan State Agrarian University (ASAU) took the first and third places, respectively.

The elections organized in the faculties of food engineering, automation, telecommunications and informatics, economics and management were held in accordance with the "Rules for holding the positions of head of department, dean and deputy dean in higher education institutions" approved by the relevant Decision of the Board of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
As a result of the voting, Professor Elshad Mammadov was elected the head of the Department of Environmental Protection, Associate Professor Rovshan Gasimov head of the Department of Automation and Information Technologies, and Associate Professor Ilhama Rahimova head of the Department of Foreign Languages.

At the event held in the library of the National Academy of Sciences, the National Anthem of Azerbaijan was first played, and then the dear memory of our martyrs who died for the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan was commemorated with a minute of silence.
At the event, assistant rector, associate professor Gulnara Ahmadova conveyed sincere greetings of NAA rector, academician Arif Mir Jalal Pashayev to the event participants and congratulated them on Victory Day. He said that the strong will of the Azerbaijan people, the iron fist and high courage of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev, the bravery of our army, soldiers and officers, and the unity of our people gave us this historic victory.
Later, information was given about the martyrs of the Patriotic War who were graduates of NAA, as well as the veterans of students and employees, and their glorious war path was mentioned. At the event, a report on "Historical aspects of the 44-day Patriotic War" was heard, and the book "Victory Wings" was presented.
Within the framework of the event, the ATU team visited the Heydar Aliyev Museum, watched a documentary film about the National Leader, then had a close look at the Pilot Training Center, auditoriums and laboratories, as well as the Student Creativity House, Technoritm.
