Information about the Faculty of  Transport and industrial technologies.

History of creation

The Faculty functioned until 1995 under the name of the Faculty of "Mechanics and Technology of Light Industry", organised in 1991 on the basis of two independent faculties "Mechanics", functioning since 1978, and "Technology of Textile and Light Industry", functioning since 1981, in Ganja branch of Azerbaijan Polytechnic Institute named after Chingiz Yildirim. Subsequently, the faculty was renamed and was named "Standardisation and Technological Machines" in 2015-2016. Later in 2016-2017 the name of the faculty was changed to "Mechanical Engineering and Metallurgy", since 2017 it has been called the Faculty of "Light Industry Engineering and Logistics", and since  2026, from February 25, the faculty was named Transport and industrial technologies.

Research works

Themes of research works at the faculty of "ILP and L" for 2018-2020:

1.At the department of "Mechanical Engineering and Logistics " - the scientific work on two scientific directions is carried out:

Theme one: Scientific direction - "Study of the role and importance of transport, warehouse logistics in the development of the national economy of the western zone of the Azerbaijan Republic".

Topic Two: Subject of the problem:

"Improving quality management systems in service areas".

2. At the department of "Light Industry Engineering and Design" the problem topics were conducted in three scientific directions.

Problem of scientific direction:

Problem 1: Development of rational technologies of production of garments.

Problem 2: Research of hygienic properties of children's clothes and orthopaedic shoes of restorative purpose.

Problem 3: Theory of knitted fabric structure formation in the process of weaving.

Problem 4: Preservation and development of material and spiritual values in modern conditions.

At the Department of Chemistry and Metallurgy conducted scientific work on one scientific direction.

Problem: "Analysis of improvement of technology of clay-earth production from alunite ore".

Themes of research work at the faculty "ILP and L" for 2021-2023:

1. At the department "Mechanics and transport technologies" - the scientific work on one scientific direction is fulfilled:

Theme of the problem: Prospects of logistics development in the Republic of Azerbaijan;

2. At the chair of "Design and industrial technologies" - scientific works on one scientific direction were carried out.

Subject of the problem: Ethnological and design compositional analysis of Karabakh national costumes and samples of decorative and applied art, ways of using these samples in the design of modern clothes.

3. At the Department of "Chemical and Metallurgical Engineering" - scientific works on one scientific direction were carried out.

Subject of the problem: Analysis of foundry - rolling process in the production of aluminium sheet.                      

4. Mainly in the activities of the Student Scientific Society - for 2022 - 9 student seminars;

for students - 4 training events;

4 students participated in international conferences.

Seyfullaev Elzhan studied 1 semester in Poland under Erasmus programme within the framework of interuniversity student exchange.

  4 students of the faculty participated in international conferences.

Two teams of the Faculty of "Light Industry Engineering and Logistics " of Azerbaijan Technological University took part in the festival "Technofest" held in Baku, Azerbaijan, 26-29 May 2022 under the aegis of the Student Scientific Society:

In 2023 at the Faculty of LİE and L

Mammadli Tariel-Hijran Ibrahim studied in Yugoslavia for 1 semester under Erasmus programme within the framework of inter-university student exchange.

2 students of the faculty (Rzazadeh Anahanim and Alvin ) became winners of projects conducted at the start up.

Student conference and 5 seminars were held at the faculty.

At the faculty of "LİE and L" 3 student associations were active: Automobilist, People's Heritage and Metallurgist.

At the faculty " LİE and L" - 14 open lessons were held.

At the faculty " LİE and L" there were 12 seminars.           

In the spirit of "Patriotism", the faculty traditionally organises exhibitions of students' works, and this usually continues every year.

 

Events held at the Faculty of Engineering of Transport and industrial technologies

Under the guidance of the Dean of the Faculty, Associate Professor Nazim Veliyev, Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Logistics, Associate Professor Shakir Aliyev and doctoral student of the Department Turhan Mammadyarov visited Shamkir Agropark on 22.09.2020. In order to increase the role of University-industrial cooperation, as well as to provide jobs for talented graduates in Shamkir Agropark, a meeting was held with the head of Human Resources Department Shalala Movlayeva. At this meeting, it is expected that from February onwards, the company will provide internships and special training in logistics on the basis of a special periods programme and eventually provide students who pass the certification with jobs in logistics centres according to their residential addresses. Bachelor's and Master's students will be able to participate in the programme.

On 28 May 2020, our Faculty hosted an online video event on the occasion of 28 May - Republic Day from the Deputy Dean for Research and the Student Research Society.

A group of students working in our faculty's Automobilci association pulled usable parts out of a broken down car to use in a machine they are designing for two local passenger cars.

On 16.12.2019, the Student Scientific Society organised a seminar by Nijat Bayramov, a student of group 1319 a1, on "Programs commonly used by interior designers". The seminar discussed Autocad architecture, 3DSMax in creating images, different types of 3D models, Sketchup in interior and exterior works, SolidWorks programme in designing fields, CorelDraw graphics for designers and QuarkXPress programme. 

Within the framework of the "Client Orientation Programme" implemented by Azerbaijan Technological University, employees of the Faculty of "Light Industry and Logistics Engineering" visited the modern industrial enterprise "Zayyam Technological Park" and discussed issues of interest to both sides. Students of group 1418a2 Elvin Hasimli and Mammadov Ramzi took 2nd and 3rd places in pankration and grappling competitions organised by Azerbaijan MMA, Pankration and Grappling Federation among children, teenagers, youth, adults and girls.

On 25 April 2019, our faculty hosted a seminar on "Fundamentals of Light Separation" by Chinara Gasimova, a student of the Department of "Design and industrial technologies", where achromatic and chromatic methods of light separation were explained and the results obtained were noted.

Tofik Mirzoev, head of the department "Design and industrial technologies" headed by the dean of our faculty Mr Nazim, a group of faculty members of the department and first year students of the speciality "Technology of Designing Reusable Goods" specialised in our republic on 22.10.2019, working on modern and quality technological equipment. made another visit to Mingachevir Textile Industrial Park producing yarn, yarn and threads from cotton.

Azerbaijan's first "Culture and Information" centre was opened in Kharkov (Ukraine), with a monument symbolising the friendship of both states, statues of thinkers and prominent personalities in the centre. Hijran Ramazanova, senior lecturer of the Light Industry Engineering Department of the Faculty of Light Industry Engineering and Logistics of Azerbaijan Technological University (ATU), took part in the event, where national costumes of the Karabakh Khanate were demonstrated in Kharkiv. At the event H.Ramazanova made an interesting and detailed speech on the topic of research of "Kelagay" - a headdress, which is an integral part of the national costume of the Karabakh khanate. On November 7, 2019, our faculty together with our students and members of the Faculty SNO held an event dedicated to the day of the "State Flag", the plots of which were organised at the initiative of the students.

On 31 October 2019, the opening of the department's branch office was held at Azeraluminium.

A branch of the Department of "Chemical and Metallurgical Engineering" of Azerbaijan Technological University (ATU) was inaugurated at Azeraluminium Plant. The opening ribbon was cut by the Rector of the University, Professor Akif Suleymanov and Deputy Director of Production of Azeraluminium Ogtay Rafiyev.

The Rector noted that students of the respective speciality will be trained on certain days of the week at the plant, in a room equipped with the necessary equipment for training, thanks to which they will be better acquainted with the secrets of metallurgical speciality. Thus, during the training process, parallel to the theoretical classes, visual classes will be held in the relevant workshops. As a result, the future technologists will have experience of working at an enterprise operating on the basis of modern technologies. It is expected that these 2nd and 3rd year students will also have an internship at Azeraluminium in the future. Akif Suleymanov noted that such visible co-operation between science and production will contribute to the development of the metallurgical industry of the country. In conclusion, the rector advised the students to appreciate the conditions created for them and wished them success in the first study day spent in the factory conditions.

Ogtay Rafiyev and Jamil Safarov, production manager of Ganja Aluminium Complex, noted in their speeches that the students will especially benefit from the training programmes designed for the employees of the plant, mainly because the training is experimental and will be held with great interest.

On 25.10.2019, a seminar of the first year student of 1229 p Orujev Elman Ramin on the topic "Transport - the circulatory system of the economy" was held at our faculty. It was announced in the seminar that transport is nowadays a very important and effective means of regulating the inseparability between production and consumer. The main types of transport were mentioned and it was explained for which products each type of transport is intended.

The seminar of the student of "Metallurgist" group Abbasov Yasin Rasim oglu, created on the initiative of the dean of our faculty Nazim Veliyev, on the topic "Research of raw materials used in the production of clay soil" in Det-Al Aluminium Complex was held on 15.05.2018. 

Our faculty hosted a teleconference with Nizhny Novgorod State Technical University as part of the student discussion on 15 May 2019

On the initiative of the Dean of the Faculty, Mr. Nazim, an association "Automobile Engineering" was set up at the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Logistics. The association was organised by the lecturers of the Department of Mechanics and transport technologies and the students of the relevant speciality of our faculty. The aim is to increase students' interest in new technologies at our faculty, to give our students more knowledge about the principles of auto parts and the functions they perform 15 April 2019.
