Professor of Azerbaijan Technological University died –NECROLOG

Ganja suffered heavy losses in the field of education. Head of the Department of mechanical engineering and logistics of Azerbaijan Technological University, doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Tofik Bayram oglu Gojayev died on March 1, 2020, at the age of 76.

Tofik Gojaev was born on June 22, 1944 in the town of Govlar in  Tovuz district. In 1967, he graduated from the mechanical faculty of mechanical engineering, Metalworking machines and tools of Azerbaijan Polytechnic Institute. In the same year, he started his career as an engineer in the office “Azercomplect” of Council of Ministers of the Azerbaijan SSR.

For exemplary service in the army in 1969/1970, he was awarded the medal “100 years since the birth of Lenin``.

In 1970, through a competition, he was selected as an assistant at the Department of details of machine of  Azerbaijan Polytechnic Institute. In 1973, he was transferred to the Kirovabad branch of the same Institute (now Azerbaijan Technological University). In 1979, he defended his PhD thesis at Moscow Institute of Civil Engineering named after V.V. Kuybyshev and received the degree of candidate of Technical Sciences, and in 1984 received the title of associate Professor.

In 1989, Tofik Gojaev was awarded the academic title of Professor. In 1990, he defended his doctoral thesis at  Kiev Polytechnic Institute and was honored the degree of doctor of technical Sciences by the Higher attestation Commission of the USSR. Tofik Gojayev has made a huge contribution  to the Azerbaijan Technological University. During his career, he worked as an assistant, senior lecturer, associate Professor, Professor, head of the Department and 8 years as a Dean. In 1987-1992, he worked as the rector of the Azerbaijan Institute of Technology (now the Azerbaijan Technological University).  He was a member of the defense councils of the Azerbaijan state Agrarian University, as well as the Azerbaijan Technical University. Tofik gojaev played a major role in the training of scientific personnel. So, on his initiative, 4 people were awarded the title of doctor of technical Sciences.

The dear memory of Professor Tofik gojaev will always live in the hearts of those who know him.

He was a member of the defense councils of the Azerbaijan state agrarian University, as well as the Azerbaijan technical University. Tofik gojaev played a major role in the training of scientific personnel. Thus, under his leadership, four people were awarded the title of doctor of technical Sciences.
