As a result of the successful implementation of its internationalization policy, the number of international students studying at the Azerbaijan Technological University (ATU) has exceeded 100 for the first time in the university’s history.
Currently, 106 students from Pakistan, India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Türkiye, Russia, and Nigeria are enrolled at ATU across bachelor’s and master’s degree programs, as well as in Preparatory Courses. This figure accounts for 2.5 percent of the university’s total student population.
This achievement reflects ATU’s growing international reputation, the recognition of its modern academic facilities, the high-quality educational environment it offers, and the success of its international cooperation strategy.
ATU has identified internationalization as one of the key directions of its Strategic Development Plan. In the coming years, the university will continue its consistent efforts to increase the number of international students, strengthen global partnerships, and promote Azerbaijani higher education worldwide.
This achievement is related to SDG 4 (Quality education), SDG 10 (Reduced inequality) and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals). The increase in the number of foreign students indicates the formation of an inclusive and multilateral academic environment at the university. The successful implementation of the internationalization policy creates conditions for young people from different countries to come together in the same educational space. This strengthens both the global integration of higher education and intercultural cooperation.
