History of the creation of the department

In 1970, it was established in the Ganja branch of the Azerbaijan Polytechnic Institute named after Chingiz Ildyrym under the name of the Department “Machine Parts”. After the establishment in 1981 on the basis of the branch of the Azerbaijan Institute of Technology, the Department continued to function as two independent departments “Parts of machines and theory of machine mechanisms". Subsequently, the department was renamed the Department of ”Mechanical Engineering and organization of transportation on transport". The name of the department in 2016. The name of the department changed to Mechanics and Transport Technologies. The head of the departmen is Shahin Mammad Oglu Guliyev.

The programs of these disciplines have been approved and published by the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

An annual work plan has been drawn up and approved for the subjects taught at the department, and for conducting training in these subjects in accordance with the requirements of the credit system, subject programs, syllabuses on subjects, curricula of teachers on subjects (forms 3 and 6), the schedule of open lessons of teachers, the schedule of consulting hours of teachers and the schedule of scientific seminars.

The department has electronic versions of the texts of lectures of the teaching staff during the academic year, which are transferred to the university library and are regularly monitored.

A month before the exams, test questions and exam tickets are issued and approved at a meeting of the department.

The staff of the department actively participates in the social work of the city and the university, including organizing socio–political events held at the University.

The staff of the department are members of the New Azerbaijan Party. They actively participate in all their activities.
